Gerald Colbert Talley Sr.

Gerald C. Talley Sr. - It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald C. Talley Sr., known to many friends as "Talley", announces he has passed away in his home on the morning of January 4, 2013, at the age of 75.

Long time resident of the Springhill area of Mobile AL, he was born the son of John and Claudia Talley in Montgomery AL. Gerald was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is predeceased by wife Lynn Lee Talley and is survived by his former wife and friend Dede Talley, loving sons Gerald C Talley Jr, Christopher J Talley, Jeremy Talley, daughters Debra Leigh Talley, Andrea Talley Phelps, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister Barbara Jordan and two brothers, Gary and Jimmy Talley.

Gerald graduated from Huntington College and worked for several Fortune 500 companies. In later years he worked for several local car dealerships where he was successful and made many more lifetime friends.

Some will remember Gerald as a friend, mentor, and successful coach during the period 1965-1975 when he was a founding member of the Springhill Youth Little League and Municipal Park Raiders Football program. Nearly forty years after his time coaching, he is still remembered with great affection by many of the children who are now adults.

Friends may gather at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL on Tuesday January 8, 2013, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2013, at 10:00am at the Radney Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine Road in Wilmer.
