George Barker Stein, Sr. – a 93 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away at an area assisted living facility on Monday, September 20, 2010. Mr. Stein was a former manager of Alabama Cartage Company and was co-owner of Rental & Salvage Sales. He attended Spring Hill High School. He is survived by three children, G. Barker Stein, Jr. (Susan), Deanne S. Hart (Ivan), and Rachel T. Stein; stepsons, Larry F. Manley (Phoebe) and Tommy O. Manley (Rita); 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street prior to the Mass from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Old Spring Hill Cemetery.
