Captain Francis Jim James Honke

Captain Francis James “Jim” Honke, U. S. Coast Guard (Retired) a native of Butte, NB and a resident of Mobile, AL for the past 29 years, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in a local hospital. Captain Honke retired from the U. S. Coast Guard after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Edward Honke. Captain Honke is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Honke; three children, Ann Marie Honke Lee, Jim Honke, and Kathleen Feda; three brothers, Joe Honke, Herb Honke, and Marion Little; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
