Frances Ruth Joiner Raybon Coffey Flowers, was born July 24, 1920 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Wilson Lester Joiner and Cora Leila Williamson Joiner. She left us on July 10, 2016 in Mobile, Alabama-two weeks away from her 96th birthday and was received into the arms of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Frances was the seventh of eight children and the last remaining sibling. She was preceded by her parents, her siblings-sisters, Eloise and Zexa; brothers, Virgil, Claude, Curtis, Homer and Donald, sisters-in-law, Lucile, Irene Hope, Norma and Madge. She was also preceded by her niece, Mollie Joiner Scardina and three husbands, Howard Raybon, Rev. Thomas Coffey, and Priar (Pete) Flowers, along with stepdaughter, Connie Drain.
Survivors include nieces and nephews; Beverly Witherspoon, Cherry Valley, CA, Curtis Ray Joiner, Jr., Alhambra, CA; Virgie (Tom) Joiner Clark, Baton Rouge, LA; Virgil Guy (Harvine) Joiner, Jr., Baton Rouge, LA; Kay (Jimmy) Joiner Nosari, Little Rock, AR; Donald Dennis (Debbie) Joiner, Richmond, VA; Kathy Joiner Soder, San Bernardino, CA; Homer Wilson (Pat) Joiner, Jr., Denham Springs, LA; Dr. Dorothy Marie (Dottie) Joiner, LaGrange, GA, Peggy Joiner Alford, Jackson, MS; one sister-in-law; Lois Joiner, Las Cruces, NM; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; stepsons, Kent (Harriet) Coffey, Euless, TX, their sons, Tom, Byron, Steve and Geoffrey and their families; Richard (Karen) Flowers, Seattle, WA; Charles (Nina) Flowers, Davison, MI, Robert (Turkan) Flowers, Lompoc, CA,; James (Joneva) Flowers, Clearwater, KS and Kenneth (Pamela) Flowers, Garland, TX and their families, plus numerous cousins and friends all over the USA.
Frances’ arrangements are as follows: Family viewing from 8:30-9:00 a.m.; public viewing on Thursday, July 14 from 9-11 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606; funeral service conducted by the Rev. Dennis Browing of First Church of God, Mobile, Alabama, immediately following with graveside services conducted by Rev. Browning at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36618.
Frances’ family wishes to publicly thank Rev. Dennis and Leslie Browning for their tireless and selfless dedication to her care over the past several months as her health declined and she finally left us. We are eternally grateful to the Brownings for their service to our Aunt Frances.
