Eric John Long, 42, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a native of South Dakota, and lived in Mobile for four years as a child. His family then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he remained until he was 28 and decided to move his own family back to Mobile, where he has been for the past 14 years. Eric was a truck driver for ten years, most recently for Love’s Trucking Company. He was a lover of animals – dogs and cats mostly – and was always the proud parent of one of each. Eric loved photography, movies, and music. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping and hiking and anything to do with being out in nature.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Bruce; Grandfather Merlin; Grandmother Phyllis; and his Aunt Jennifer. He had also lost his beloved pups: Samantha, Savanna, Sissi, Sophia, and Sebastian.
He is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Areona Long and Leila Long; the love of his life, Kristen Long; mother, Maria Long; father, James Long; brother, Sean Long; and his cat, Emme.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2 p.m. It would have been Eric’s 43 birthday, and the family would like to extend the invitation to all friends and family to come and share memories of Eric.
