Eloyd Scherer Murphy

Eloyd Scherer Murphy – A native of Mobile, former resident of Arlington, TX and a current resident of Pascagoula, MS, died Monday, November 22, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Bishop Toolen High School, attended Spring Hill College, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a long time member and past president of the Texas Inventors Association. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Pascagoula, loved to travel and meet new people, being on or near the water with her family, and especially loved her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Leslie Scherer and Elana Pharabey Young Scherer. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Michael E. Murphy; two daughters, Miloyd Murphy of Mobile and Mischel Murphy Romero of Pascagoula; three grandchildren, Felicia Romero (Brad) Bivens, Michael Romero and Steven Romero; one great-granddaughter, Tabitha Bivens; other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 26, 2010, 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Special thanks go to Dr. Tom Stevens and Tonya Stevens, and to We Care Hospice.
