She loved working with Camp Bluebird, an adult cancer camp, was a hospice volunteer and a member of First Baptist Church, Moss Point, MS for over 55 years where she taught Sunday School. She was most proud of feeding thousands of mission team members and volunteers that came to help after Hurricane Katrina, cooking all of the meals in her own kitchen.
She is survived by her son Jamie Hunter, daughter Lyn (Eric) Reed, daughter-in-law Paige Payne Hunter, sister Pat (Paul) Mayer, grandchildren Will (Stephanie) Hunter, Bradley Reed, Elizabeth Hunter, Joseph (Victoria) Hunter and Thomas Hunter, 4 great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews and sweet friend, Catherine Nelson Flynt. Special thanks to Taylor Meadows, Ron Capallia, Teresa Wharton and Hospice of Light, especially Catfish, Teadra and Michael.
The graveside service conducted by Mitch Osborne, a special Camp Bluebird friend, will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
