Edwin Oliver “Ed” Scott, Jr. – a 75 year-old native of Mobile, longtime resident of Slidell, LA, and current resident of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, July 18, 2016. Mr. Scott was a 1958 graduate of McGill Institute where he played trumpet in the band. He attended Spring Hill College and Auburn University. After leaving Auburn, Mr. Scott became a charter pilot for Executive Airlines at Bates Field in Mobile. He worked for Hertz Rentals for 20 years and retired from Nolan Battery as Vice President of Sales after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and loved bowling. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin O. Scott, Sr. and Edith Scott, and sister, Edith Ann Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Louise “Lou” Scott; daughter, Chrissy Chiasson (Brian); other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staffs of Homestead Village and Covenant Hospice of Pensacola for all of their compassionate care and support.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 p.m. until the service hour. Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola, 2001 N.
