Edward L White

Dr. White was a retired Superintendent of the Mobile County Public School System. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, Mobile, Al. He was ordained a Baptist Minister through the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and was proud to have served his Country in the United States Army during WW II. Dr. White was one of the liberators of the Jewish People from the Duchau Concentration Camp in Germany.

Dr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. White and Ella Smith Payne; siblings, Wilda Shaw, Maude Burge, Bill Payne, Jack Payne, Dollis (Leon) Morris and Ella Mae Dewberry.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife Betty H. White; Children, Martha Elaine White, John Edward White and a grandson, Bradley Edward White; special daughter, Catherine Qian and grandson Alex Huang; siblings, Joe (Barbara) White and Margie (Richard) Thompson; two Sister in laws, Christine Payne and Doris Payne, and a brother in law., Shadrach Dewberry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Interment will follow in Pine Crest West Cemetery, Mobile, Al.
