She loved her Saviour first, her family, her church, and then her country. Even though she was in a nursing facility for the last few years of her life; she always said her work was not done. She never stopped telling others about the saving grace of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She always prayed for her caregivers and was continually encouraging them. People would come in on their off days to have Mrs. Tew pray with them. She said, "as long as I am here on this earth and God has work for me to do, I will do what He asks as long as I can." Her daily prayer was to be a blessing to someone that day.
Mrs. Tew prayed for her family without ceasing. The family has experienced rich generational blessings because of her faithfulness and prayers.
She was always teaching. She served as a Sunday School teacher most of her life; teaching school-aged children all the way to college. The family was fortunate to have her keep great-grandchildren several times each week. The time spent with "grandmama" are the most treasured memories.
Mrs. Tew was a faithful member of Dayspring Baptist Church at the time of her death.
She loved her country and prayed daily for a great revival in our land.
