Dorothy Jean Rider

Dot Rider - a 90 year-old native of Memphis, Tennessee, former resident of Jackson, Mississippi, and current resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. She was a former Jaycette and helped with organizing the Junior Miss Pageant. Mrs. Rider was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rider, and sister, Glenda Owens. Mrs. Rider is survived by her children, Kim Woods (David) and Keith Rider (Pam); grandchildren, Chess Woods (Sarah), Miller Woods (Sarah), Brittany Meatyard (Michael), and Bailey Rider; great-grandchildren, Ella Maulding, Rider Griffin, Kate Woods, Gretchen McClure, Brooks Rider, Colt Woods, Dylyn Woods, Harper Griffin, Bryant Rider, Harrison Meatyard, Mollie Meatyard, and Hazel Woods; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Bentonia, Mississippi on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 1 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
