Dorothy Marie Larson Howell

Dorothy Marie Larson Howell "Dot" - loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, an 85 year-old native of Middletown, OH and longtime resident of Mobile passed away Monday, November 18, 2013. Mrs. Howell was a retired Mobile County employee. She was president of a local chapter of the Alabama Retired State Employees Association (ARSEA). Mrs. Howell also served on the board of the ARSEA. She was a member of the Seniors Citizen's Hall of Fame. She held a Master's Degree from the University of South Alabama and was a former teacher's aide and substitute teacher. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Pearlie B. Howell, Jr. She is survived by her children, P. Bentley Howell, III (Gail), Cynthia M. Jordan (Richard), Ann H. Pugh (Ronald), Donna H. Bush (Harvey), Susan C. Damp (Carter), and Robert J.M. Howell; brothers, George R. Larson and Marcus E. Larson; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneralhome.com.
