Donnie Lewis Brady, Sr.

Donnie Lewis Brady, Sr. – beloved husband, father, and grandfather, a 72 year-old native of Shubuta, MS and longtime resident of Mobile passed away Monday, December 15, 2014. Mr. Brady was a 1961 graduate of Vigor High School and was a veteran of the United States Army Special Forces. He retired from AT&T after 42 years of service. Mr. Brady was a member of the Communication Workers of America and was a life member of the AT&T Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Men of St. Joseph.

Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Guy Brady; first wife, Naomi Brady; and daughter, Pamela Brady Beard. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Duval Brady; wife, Charlotte Boyes Brady; children, Renee Brady McAleer (Mike) and Donnie L. Brady, Jr.; brother, Wayne Brady (Carolyn); sister, Patsy Kay Flore (Homer); grandchildren, Brady McAleer, Sidney McAleer, Brandon Beard, Austin Beard, Donnie L. Brady, III, Sawyer Brady, Mary Frances Brady, and Mary Katherine Dowdle; other relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Dominic Catholic Church on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
