David Alston Kinzer, age 74, passed away Friday, October 28 in Mobile, Alabama. David was born in Mobile, Alabama on November 30, 1947, to parents, Grace Kinzer, and Alston Kinzer. David was raised in Mobile and enjoyed fishing, water skiing and tinkering in the garage with his dad. He graduated from Murphy high school in 1966. David entered into apprenticeship as an electrician and was noted for his expertise in Electrical Controls and Instrumentation (E & I).
He started his career with ALCOA in Mobile and spent many years in the Paper Industry with Scott, SAPPI and Kimberly Clark companies. David retired from Sappi as an E and I supervisor. After retirement, he enjoyed teaching several E & I courses at other Paper Manufacturing facilities He was a man of faith, integrity and had a deep love for his country. Anyone who knew David, knew he was truly a Southern gentleman, who always enjoyed a good meal with friends and family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Kinzer, sister Ann Kinzer Breneman, and wife Gail Beard. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Nattalie Albert Kinzer, brother Jack Kinzer (Bowling Green Kentucky), son David Kinzer; grandchildren Alexis Kinzer, Cheyenne Gates, A.J. Kinzer, nephew Ray Breneman, niece Lou Ann Meisel, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3rd , 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin St., Mobile, Al. followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with interment at Pine Crest cemetery.
