Mr. Clayton Lamar Hare, Sr., passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Geraldine “Geri” Christopher Hare, children, Clayton Lamar Hare, Jr. (Shayne Bradley), Pamela Renae Hare Perry (Roy Livingston), grandchildren, Casey Clayton Hare of the Philippines, Mia Renae Perry McCoy (Jonathan) of Memphis, TN and Scott Bradley Hare of Summerdale, AL. Mr. Hare was employed by the Alabama State Docks for 20 years and in the construction business before. He made friends wherever he went. He was a kind, loving man and will be missed by all who knew him. He loved to play music with the Curtis Gordon Band when he returned from the service in 1952. He coached Boys Baseball for over 10 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Mr. Hare served his country honorably in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 88 and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Hare loved music, Alabama football and Braves baseball. Most of all he loved his family and the Lord. He was one of 13 children born to Clayton Lester and Aileen M. Hare. He is also survived by his brother Francis Wayne Hare (Cissy), sisters, Eula Ray Hare Dunn, Maxine Hare Fulford (Jimmy) and Joy Jean Hare Abbott of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Hare were held at Radney Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 with interment in Pine Crest Cemetery.
