Charles Edmond Dunnam, of Mobile, entered into rest Sunday, February 21, 2016, at a local hospital. He was 76. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mutual Rights Cemetery in Avera, MS. Pastor Jake Brown of Sonrise Baptist Church will officiate.
Dr. Dunnam was a barber in the Mobile area since 1959 up until his health started failing six years ago. He owned several barber shops, the latest being Dunnam's Barber Shop. He received a Certificate of Merit for outstanding styling ability and leadership in the art of hairstyling in the USA Championship Competition from the Journeymen Barbers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ennis and Myrtle Valentine Dunnam, four brothers, and one sister.
Dr. Dunnam is survived by his three children, James E. (Tammy) Dunnam, Charlene (Eddie) Jordan, and Charles Dewayne (Carole) Dunnam all of Mobile, four sisters, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
