Charles, known as “Buddy” to most, was born on November 6th, 1948, to Charles Alvin Beasley Sr. and
Mary Nell Hearn in Albertville, AL. Charles went on to study business at the University of Alabama and
graduated in 1972. Some of his most memorable times at the University were spent walking across the
quad to class with Bear Bryant.
Buddy met Jean “Poppy” Beasley at the University of Alabama, and later went on to have two girls,
Katherine and Mary.
Buddy and Poppy eventually settled in Bay Minette where he worked as an Alfa Insurance agent for 30
plus years.
In 2012, Buddy retired and spent his time enjoying his grandchildren, granddogs, and all Alabama
sporting events.
Buddy was predeceased by his mother Mary Nell Hearn and father Charles Alvin Beasley Sr. He is
survived by his wife of 51 years Jean “Poppy” Beasley, his sisters Sally Beasley Lawrence (Will) and
Mary Beasley Dean (Bill), two daughters, Katherine Beasley Wills (Robert) and Mary Beasley Nelson
(Walter) and three grandchildren, Bo Wills, Mary Brook Wills, and Matthew Wills.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile, Alabama, on Thursday January 11th. A
visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:30 am. Graveside service will be held at
Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama, on Saturday, January 13th, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the
