Carolyn C. Smith

Mrs. Carolyn Condron Smith of 4611 John Sims Road East, Wilmer, AL died in the early hours of September 4, 2017 at her home in Wilmer. She was among her family at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Morse and Evelyn Otillie (Schmidt) Condron of Tucson, AZ and her son, Steven Rayford Smith of Wilmer. She is survived by her husband, Rayford Smith, whom she married on December 19, 1959 in Tucson, AZ, a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Griffin of Tucson, daughter, Susan S. Beam of Wilmer, grandsons, Christopher “Joey” Joseph Lenoir of Mobile, AL, John Robert “Bobby” Beam of Mobile, Nicholas Beam of Wilmer, Samuel Smith of Wichita, KS and Daniel Steven Smith of Goodwill, OK and two great- granddaughters and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Smith of Wichita, KS and very special friend, assistant and caregiver, Mrs. Angie Thomas of Wilmer. Mrs. Smith graduated from Tucson High School at mid-semester in 1957 and immediately enrolled as a freshman at the University of Arizona. After her marriage, she became an efficient mother, housewife and honorable Army wife. She was a loyal friend to many and always found good in all. She will be truly missed. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Interment will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery Chapel, 5801 East Grand Road, Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Colleges of Nursing at the University of Arizona or the University of South Alabama.
