My mom fought a good fight and ultimately won the race by crossing the finish line in heaven. No more struggling to breathe, no more pain and weakness. So proud of her effort to fight to survive and also relieved that she’s not struggling any more. 
I’m sure she’s playing either the organ, piano, or accordion in heaven while the angels sing. 🎶
We selfishly want her here but God had better plans for her. We are resting easy knowing she is with the Lord and free from pain, kicking up the dust on the golden streets of heaven.

I had to say goodbye this week to the only grandmother I’ve ever known. She put up quite the fight over the last month. She had many ups and downs recently, reaching many milestones. She was extremely excited to come off the ventilator and tried her best to tell us all about it. She was also excited to escape the ICU so that she could have company whenever she wanted. Unfortunately, I never got to visit her once she got out of ICU due to everyone being sick and her having a compromised immune system. I regret not being able to see her for the past week, but I enjoyed my conversations with her even if she wasn’t able to verbally respond. I know she knows I love her. I just wish she had gotten the chance to tell me everything she was trying to say with her eyes. I wish I could have at least gotten to spend next week with her; next week would have been the first time that I would have gotten to spend as much time as I wanted with her without the worries of class, clinicals, and visiting hour limitations. This was the worst news I could have gotten as I was leaving clinical Tuesday; I didn’t even get to the hospital in time to see her before she passed. I was completely caught off-guard due to the amazing progress she had made. She went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon after a long and hard-fought battle for her life. I miss her so much already. 

I miss you so much, Maw-Maw! I love you!

I’ve been holding off on posting this because I wanted to stay strong for my dad and grandpa. Honestly, I’ve been holding off because I didn’t want to accept it myself. Tuesday night My grandma left this world to be with our God in heaven. She’s watching over all of us now free of the pain that burdened her here on earth. I’m thankful that I was able to see her one last time before she left. Allison Clark and I went to visit her a few days before. She was awake and alert. I’m thankful that I was able to tell maw maw that we got engaged. Maw maw pulled both of us close for a hug  Allison showed her the ring and she told us how beautiful it was and how happy she was for us. She couldn’t say much because her throat was hurting but the whispers and the joy on her face meant the world to me. Before we left I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her. She said she loved me too. I never thought when I left that hospital that night it would be the last conversation I’d have with her. We ended on a great one though. Tomorrow my brothers, cousins and I will carry her to her final resting place. It’s going to be a hard day to get through but I know she’ll be watching over all of us and she’ll be in our hearts forever! I love you so much maw maw! I miss you! Until we meet again! ❤️

I'm going to miss you my friend ! I enjoyed the years we worked together. I know you are at peace now. I will come visit often.


My sincere condolences to Robert and family. Carolyn was a beautiful and loving friend.  I still remember her playing the organ at Riverside Nazarene and for making mine and Terry Wayne’s wedding cake as well as playing the music.  Although life changes, one thing remains... the memories made and the love you shared will always carry you through. Praying for peace in this time of grief.
