Carol Imms Poe, 70, passed away in Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. She was born to Ike and Gladys Imms on November 12, 1949 in Mobile, Alabama. Carol was an extremely independent woman. She loved to travel, driving, and the mountains. Carol loved old cars, and even worked on them when she was younger. She was interested in history and genealogy. Above everything else in her life, Carol was loyal to her family. She loved her grandchildren – they kept her going. Carol was a great woman, and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Poe; parents; and two sisters, Dorothy (Jimmy) Morrow and Eleaner May Imms.
Carol is survived by her two children, Tony (Michelle) Cowan and Hayley (Lee) Calametti; five grandchildren, Paul and Jude Cowan, and Claire, Michael, and Katy Calametti; three sisters, Betty (Gene) Maxwell, Barbara (Ken) Parnell, and Judy (Steve) Evans; as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
