Barbara Jane Edwards Legendre

Barbara Edwards Legendre, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at home. She was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church in Mobile and the Tristan de Luna Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ms. Legendre recently served as a docent at the Richards-DAR Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Legendre, and is survived by their four daughters, Janet Colbran (Roger); Leslie Clinger (Jeff); Susan Padgett (Joel); and Linda Murphy (Darrell); nine grandchildren, Laura and Catherine Colbran; Meaghan Hernandez (Juan); Richard Hoffman (Joanna); Joseph Hoffman; Emily Padgett; Eden, Jack and Amy Claire Murphy; five great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Leon Legendre. The family extends special gratitude to her caregivers, Catherine Meggs, Margaret Robinson, Thelma Robinson and Valerie Pruitt as well as the Aseracare Hospice team, Tena, Kay and Essie. Thank you to the many friends who called, visited and sent their love and support. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service. Inurnment will be at the columbarium at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
