Beloved Barbara Duhe passed away on her 84th birthday on February 07, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. After a lengthy battle with lung disease, Barbara left this earth to a place of healing with her heavenly Father. Barbara is survived by her husband Willie (Bill) Joseph Duhe and her three children, Fred Malone Bryan, Jr, Jill Bryan Creel (Rictor), Brandy Bryan Snider (Bruce Michael); her grandchildren Claudia Mae StClair, Fred Malone Bryan III, Kennedy Creel Favors (John David), Mallory Rush Creel, Bruce Michael Snider Jr., Russell Lee Snider (fiancé Carley Waggoner). Great grandchildren Harper Ann Favors and John David Favors Jr. Also left to grieve Barbara’s passing are first cousins Tina Waltman Cutcliffe and Ray H. Kennedy (Patsy) and dear friend Christi Mossburg. Bill’s five children and grandchildren and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Thelma Kennedy, her first husband Fred Malone Bryan, Sr., and her daughter LeeAnn Bryan.
Barbara was born in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Murphy High School in 1958. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for over 23 years. Barbara was a true southern lady with great class and style. Her natural talent for making a house a home and her passion for food led to a successful career in interior decorating and catering. As a much sought out caterer, the Mobile Press Register recognized Barbara’s following and talent and hired her to write a weekly column titled the “Super Supping” in which Barbara showcased her many recipes for close to 20 years. As her following grew, Barbara gathered her favorite recipes and produced a cookbook, “From Collards to Caviar: The Alabama Cookbook”. To know Barbara was to know her love of cooking and her passion for gathering people together for great food and fun. To know Barbara was to know she loved people from all walks of life. To know Barbara was to know she styled herself to the ”t” and was an impeccable dresser. Many friends and family will forever cherish the memories of her annual Christmas Eve parties right out of Southern Living magazine. Barbara and her precious soul will be missed by many but to know her is to know she is up in Heaven, no doubt, reorganizing God’s kitchen. A memorial service, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Mary Jayne Ledgerwood, will be held on February 23rd at l0 am at Trinity Episcopal Church located at l900 Dauphin Street in Mobile, Alabama.
