Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Bryant, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2025. She was born to Alene Boyd on July 5, 1943 in Wilmer, Alabama. Bobbie was a life-long member of Wilmer Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving in the Nursery as well as a Sunday School teacher for the children, youth, and senior adults. In her spare time, she volunteered as a Bible Study leader and mentor through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) as well as other small studies throughout her lifetime. In addition to studying the Bible and spending time with Jesus, Bobbie enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She is well-known for her beautiful and delicious cakes! Bobbie embodied what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and her legacy continues to live on through her family and friends.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her mother, Alene Boyd, her brother, Herman (Janice) Tanner, her sister, Ellen Boyd Schmitz, and her nephew, Rodney Tanner.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack Bryant, as well as her two children, Rhonda (Paul) Owen and Derrick (Jennifer) Bryant. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren well and taught them what it means to love and live for Christ. She is survived by her grandchildren: Jayce (Agatha) Bryant, Noah (Mikahla) Bryant, Natalie (Preston Baty) Owen, and her great-grandchild, Rook Bryant. In addition, Bobbie is survived by her sister, Clariece Boyd Lilly, and her nieces and nephews whom she cherished greatly. They include Kaye (Anthony) Lee, Heather (Tim) Minshew, Justin (Sarah) Tanner, Chase (Shelley) Foley, and Mitchell Gonzales.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. from Wilmer Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Wilmer Cemetery.
