With heavy hearts, we announce that Angela “Angie” Nicole Dempsey, age 49, of Mobile, AL, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on October 16, 2021. Angie graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School and the University of South Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She began her career in the public school system and then continued her dedication to students at Faith Academy where she made a lasting impression in so many young lives. She was a member of Oak Park Church where she served the Lord teaching students drama and directing dance productions.
Angie is preceded in death by her father, Chesley Partin. Angie will be deeply missed by her husband, Will Dempsey, her three children, Jacob (Madison), Cole, and Mary McKinley; her beloved mother, Mary Partin; mother-in-law, Francis Dempsey; along with many family members and friends.
Angie, an only child, was a blessing to her parents, whom she loved dearly. She fell in love with Will at the tender age of 15 and continued to love him the rest of her life. Together, they created a beautiful family; being a mother was one of Angie’s greatest joys. Angie had a special relationship with her cousin, Jackie, whom she loved like a sister. She loved to shop and spend time with family and friends. She was a loyal, trustworthy friend with a great sense of humor. Throughout her battle and all the difficult trials that Angie endured, she faced it with unwavering faith and strength. Scripture states “and after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” (1 Peter 5:10). God’s Grace came for Angie and God’s Grace wins every time.
At 16 years of age, on October 16, 1988, Angie publicly acknowledged her acceptance of what Christ bought for her on the cross with believer’s baptism; exactly 33 years later, on October 16, 2021, the Lord brought his daughter home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 12pm with the memorial service beginning at 2pm at Oak Park Church, 3321 Sollie Road. Angie will be ushered to her final resting place at Mobile Memorial Gardens by Brooks Carlson, Danny Carlson, Lamar Cowart, Daniel Eiland, Patrick McWilliams, Will Miller and Jay Seymour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
