Salome “Sally” Miranda Cordova was born on October 22, 1940 to Tranquilino and Teodora Cordova in Manila, Philippines. She attended high school and college in the Philippines and studied banking and finance.
She immigrated to the United States in 1969 following her older brother Gil. Two years later, her younger sister Andrea immigrated to the Philippines followed by her mother, younger brother Narciso and his family in 1984. She spent most of those years working as an Accounting Supervisor at American Express in New York.
In the late 1980s, she moved to California to be with her sister’s family. She helped raise Allison, Aaron and Annalisa.
Sally was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and lola/grandma/grandaunt. She loved cooking, singing, knitting, embroidery, dancing, traveling in the Philippines, attending parties, going to Vegas, eating out and spending time with family and friends. She was a woman full of virtue and wisdom.
She was a devout Catholic and was an active member of the Choir, Fil-Am Rosary Group and San Francisco Solano Catholic Parish.
Sally passed away on July 26, 2023, surrounded by close friends and family.
Sally is survived by her brother Narciso (and spouse Flor), sister Andrea (spouse Arturo Alonzo), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Tranquilino & Teodora Cordova, brother Gil Cordova and nephew Norman Cordova.
A visitation for Salome will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
