Richard James Shinkle

Born in Torrance, CA Rick was the loving son of the late James and Dorothy Shinkle. Rick was a warm and loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all.

Rick proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Rick retired from Toyota Motors in 2014. His true passion was his love for his family. His love for them went unparalleled.

Rick was the beloved husband of Ellen Shinkle. He was the devoted father of Kary Atkinson (Jakob) of Ocala, FL and Kelly Paulson (Naren) of Indialantic, FL. He was the cherished grandfather of Hannah and Paige Atkinson and Noah and Dylan Paulson. He was the dear brother of Janice VanAken (Bob). He was predeceased in death by his late wife Sally Ann Coop-Shinkle.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fairhaven Mortuary in Mission Viejo, CA on Thursday 11/17 at 10:00 am
