Daughter of James William Smith & Edith Marie Smith.
She grew up all over the US as her father was a racehorse trainer, and on race day they would take the train with the horses to the race tracks (Kentucky Derby, Del Mar, Santa Anita & many more.)
Phyllis graduated from Utah State University 1989 with a Bachelors Degree, becoming a special Education School Teacher for 15 years based in Las Vegas.
She is survived by sister, Janet Ayala and children: Bill Edwards, Diane Manriquez, Tom Bollinger, Jim Oronoz, Elena Hernandez, 19 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
She will be remembered as quick witted, a voracious reader, she loved eating Mexican food and had a deep unconditional love for her family.
