After a second battle with cancer, Michelle Figueroa (Mickie) passed away on January 31, 2021. Mickie had a vigor for life and embraced and lived every moment to the fullest. She recently traveled in an RV for two weeks with her husband Elio and family, celebrating their 30th anniversary; and her eyes sparkled every time she talked about her 2 year old grandson Finn. Mickie was selfless. Mickie was a cancer survivor many years ago and always offered her empathy, support, wisdom and encouragement to those who also faced medical crises. She was a remarkable and strong woman who leaves behind her husband Elio, her 3 children, Cassie, Jessie and Jake, and her grandson, Finn.
The loss of Mickie will be felt by many, so let’s remember her as the selfless, courageous person who loved life and inspired those who knew her. The best way to honor her life is to thoroughly experience everything life has to offer and share the love with others. Let’s all take the time to recognize how precious life is and embrace the goodness of small things. That is how Mickie lived her life.
