Joseph (Jozef) Reich passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 surrounded by his children. He is survived by his daughter, Pascale, his sons Roland and Eric, daughter in law, Nicole and granddaughter, Sydney.
Joseph was born in Krakow, Poland on November 2, 1935 to Marian and Alicia Reich. As a Polish Jew he survived WWII as a young boy in hiding. In 1952, he and his parents immigrated to Israel recognizing this as his true homeland. There he joined a Kibbutz with other surviving immigrants and later served in the Israeli Paratrooper Brigade. In 1967 he, his wife, Margaretha and children immigrated to the US to fulfill the American dream. He began his hardworking journey later to become a successful entrepreneur eventually owning his own business as an optician.
He was a seeker of adventure, an enthusiast for windsurfing, skiing and motorcycles. He truly loved his time with his friends with whom he shared many interests, adventures, and laughs.
Based on his love of the sea, Joseph will be cremated with a memorial service held on November 8, 2023 from the Dana Point harbor.
