She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Hank, with whom she shared 63 years of a loving marriage. She was a proud mother to her two sons, John and Larry, and cherished her family deeply. Doretta was predeceased by her husband Hank, son John and her parents, but she is survived by her son Larry, daughter-in-law Kerry, cherished grandchildren Lyndsey (David) Anderson and Michael , great-grandchildren Theo and Enzo, her two beloved sisters, Nadine Clark and Rosemarie O’Brien, and beloved brother-in-law Bob Clark, and loving nieces and nephews.
Born in Ashland, Kentucky, Doretta grew up in Michigan before moving to California to build a life with her husband, Hank. After retiring to Las Vegas with her husband, she became ill and spent her final years living in California with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson where she was lovingly cared for. Doretta was an active member of her community, especially involved in her children’s PTA and a steadfast volunteer in the local voting polls.
A woman of many talents, she graduated college as a beautician before working in payroll at Ford Corporation. However, it was her role as a homemaker, sewing, cooking, and baking for her family, that brought her the most joy. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and her community.
Doretta’s legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
