In the days before GPS cell phones, I called Diana "my Tel Star" because had such a keen sense of direction.  I would call her up and say "I'm lost. How do I get to..." She always knew the way.  I'm feeling a little lost right now and sure would like to call her up.  I miss you my dear, sweet, Diana!

Thank you Diana, for "adopting" me, when I first came to McFadden as a substitute.  You were warm, friendly, and helpful. Over the years we have kept in touch , and I always felt so welcomed by you. Thank you. I will never forget you. RIP, dear one. Love and prayers are beaming out to you and your family. I will miss you.

I had the privilege of working with Diana for 11 years at McFadden. As one of the Pentathlon coaches with Diana, we spent many hours at practices and competitions. I also considered her a mentor when I was given one of the Gate Language Arts classes. Her experience and knowledge was crucial to making that first year with that class a success.  Although in recent years I only saw her at McFadden reunions, I consider her a valued co-worker and friend. She was a remarkable educator and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She always used to speak so lovingly of her family. She will be missed.

Diana was a dear, dear friend of mine.  She was a lovely person who I really enjoyed knowing.  I kept a special bottle of scotch for her in my house for when she would attend one of my small parties; however, she would often not drink as she was usually the designated driver.  Diana, Sharon Schiesl, and I enjoyed Musical Theater West together for many years.  Diana always drove as she really enjoyed driving.  When we were alone, she would tell us many tales of her family, definitely the people she felt closest to.  I felt that I knew them too after listening so often to her fond stories.  What a delight our Diana was!  I am so sorry to lose her, but I look forward to reuniting with her in the hereafter.  All my love, Pat.

I have two favorite memories of my beautiful Aunt Diana. The first was when I was 10 years of age and she took me to a white table cloth fancy restaurant in California. She and I dressed up in our best and it was during our meal that she taught me how to be respectful at the dinner table. It was in very specific details of how to present myself as a young elegant lady. Her lessons will always be with me for the rest of life! Second, this past January my parents and I visted Aunt Diana at her home. She asked me to put on her mothers wedding dress to see if it fit and to take pictures. When I walked out of the room in my Grandmother's (mor-mor) wedding dress, Diana gave an expression as though the ghost of her mother just walked out of the room. She gave a grand smile and for the first time in her life that I know of she was a loss for words. This was one of the last moments I had with Aunt Diana and it will always be with me as a special moment in saying goodbye. I will miss my Aunts elegant, graceful and loving personality. With all that she shared and taught me, she will live forever in my heart and thoughts. I love you Aunt Diana

I'll always remember cousin Diana's ready smile and great sense of humor. She had a wonderful gift of telling a good story or a humorous family anecdote. I was struck early on by her poise and grace, which continued throughout her life. Recently reunited, our family time together a warm, wonderful, laughter filled weekend thanks to Brian and Tim. I'm so grateful to have those memories to cherish, she made that time very special. Diana we will miss you!

I really didn't know Diana for that long, yet for the few months I was her caregiver, the calm and peace she portrayed was remarkable. She enjoyed talking to Smoki, her family and friends. Diana loved people. She was a joy and a pleasure to be around and laughed a lot even through the pain. I hope that someday I too will treat caregivers with the same amount of consideration and kindness as Diana did. Diana taught me how to die  she did it with so much grace and strength of character. Farewell lovely lady and thank you for the wonderful memories.

My Aunt Diana will always have a special place in my heart.  I remember her hugs, her smile and her stories of my dad!  She was so full of love for her nieces and nephews and her grand nieces and nephews too.  Her passion for books and literature had such an influence on me.  As I was growing up, I remember talking about novels with her, but more recently, I had so much pleasure discussing our book club books with her.  We shared our various book club choices -what the west coast was reading and what the east coast was reading! I will miss her terribly but know she will always be smiling down on us.

I remember cousin Diana from my childhood. The Austins would visit on holidays and special occasions, when Jack and Edith would be in town. Her beauty and her spirit would always light up the room. After many years of not seeing Diana we were reunited recently, thanks to Brian and Tim - and the same spirit and beauty had not diminished, not one bit. I loved seeing her again, listening to her entertaining, funny stories. She will be missed, she is missed by many.  Skal Diana !

Diana was my parachute person. There was article entitled "Parachute People"-people who are there when you most need them and bring you hope. That was Diana. I was a young mom with a 4 month old baby (Beth) when we were transferred to California. We left behind family and friends and moved across the country. Boy, was I scared. But then there was Diana. How very blessed we were to have such a loving and caring sister. I will never forget how much I depended on her - when I was lonely, when we needed help, when I just needed a hug or someone to talk with, she was there. She was my parachute. I will always be so very grateful.
We know that you are safely home, Diana, in God's loving care, but we miss you dearly. You touched us with your love and kindness - and you will forever be in our hearts.

As I grew up with the Austin/Livermore family get togethers, Diana never seemed to age! A beautiful woman, I loved her laugh and sense of humor. She enjoyed family and always asked me how I was doing, what sports I was in, etc. I hadn't seen Diana since I was in junior high I think, but her memory of being a happy, fun loving person will always remain in my memory. You will be missed, cousin.

 I met Diana over 40 years ago when she transferred to McFadden from one of the elementary schools. With our classrooms close together and teaching the same subjects, we soon became good friends and remained so over the years. Diana was a dedicated teacher for whom I had much respect. She was usually one of the last teachers to leave at the end of the school day. I admired her intelligence, curiosity, and sharp mind. I enjoyed her good nature and sense of humor. I appreciated that Diana had a zest for life and loved to have a good time. You name it and Diana was usually up for it. Diana loved animals, especially her cats. In fact, her license plate read "KrazyKatLover." She loved her friends and was always willing to help them out when needed. She was also the one who usually arranged for get togethers and parties. Most of all, Diana loved her family and talked about them often. Diana was a great friend, and I miss her.

I will miss Diana's sharp wit, her joyful spirit, her cleverness at Game Night parties, and her competition as a Word Chum player. Of course, her extraordinary career as a teacher will be remembered by myself and all those on which she had such a poignant impact.
