On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, Denise Cleary, loving mother of two children and sister to seven siblings, passed away at the age of 79 of natural causes, in the city of Orange, CA. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, entrepreneur and world traveler. She was petite in stature but had a larger than life personality.
Denise was born in Casablanca, Morocco, the child of Simi and Albert. She married a US Airman at the young age of 19 and came to the United States. She became a proud American shortly thereafter and was passionate about her new found freedoms.
She raised two children, Monique and Michael, primarily as a single mother. She taught her children her closely held values of strength, independence and commitment to family. She maintained close ties with her brothers and sisters and her home was always open to family and friends. The “go to” hostess for celebrations, she loved to entertain and did it with flair and style.
During her professional career, she was a bookkeeper, office manager, and owner/operator of a thriving insurance and benefits agency for over a decade. The accomplishments of her award-winning agency allowed her to travel the world. She was recognized often as an over achiever and one who made an impact on her clients lives.
After retirement, she enjoyed playing cards, tennis, attending social gatherings and remained deeply involved in her family’s lives. She is survived by three brothers: Jais, Henri and Eli as well as two children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her passing has a left a void we will never be able to fill.
