Christina Marie Thomas was born on June 14, 1962 and passed away at Providence Mission hospital in Mission Viejo, California on May 19, 2024. She was a devoted mother, wife, and teacher. Beloved by her family, students, and coworkers, Tina, as her loved ones called her, always prioritized the needs of others above her own and not only nurtured her own family, but also thousands of students over her 17-year teaching career. Christina graduated from Glendora High School in 1980 where she was a varsity swimmer and editor of the school newspaper. Christina attended UCLA, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications in 1984. Christina married Kurt Thomas, a fellow UCLA graduate in 1986. After moving to Orange County in 1987, Tina and Kurt raised 3 children, Kyle, Madison and Christy. Tina was an avid volunteer for Girl Scouts and local youth sports leagues. She enjoyed watching her children play soccer, lacrosse and volleyball, and was a fan of the LA Galaxy, Angel City Football Club and Everton Football Club. After raising her children Tina began a career as an English teacher for Santa Ana Unified School District, obtaining Teacher of the Year honors. She enjoyed cooking and reading.
Besides her husband and children, Tina is survived by her mother Ann Albert and her sisters, Linda Barazin and Mary Hogshead.
