Carolyn was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. She was always gentle and kind. Always had something positive to say, and I don’t recall ever hearing her speak negatively to or about anyone or anything. 

Laurel, What a beautiful funeral service you had for your sweet angel Mom.  I met your Mom but never got to know her, and after today’s service, I feel like I missed out. The words today expressed the profound love that her family, and friends had for your Mom, and were such a beautiful tribute to her. Whenever I talked with you, I could see the special love...bond...you and your Mom had. It reminded me of me and my Mom. It was special and never ending. Those sweet memories you made will always be with you and will keep your Mom in your heart and she will always be with you. She was so blessed to have you and your family. You loved her and took such good care of her. You were the answer to a mother’s prayer. You too have been blessed. May your special relationship with your Mom, and all the sweet memories sustain you and comfort you in the days ahead. You have such a beautiful family....your Moms legacy lives on with you. It’s plain to see That Carolyn left a lot of love to keep on going! I love you sweet friend. 

If there were an angel living on earth, it had to be Carolyn ! Every month, I would send her a message to give my visiting teaching report and she would respond, thanking me and then we would have a good long conversation about life, about animals, about Checkers, her cat, about gardens about her roses that she grew...              It was as if we had known each other for a lifetime ! She was such a good listener and would give me great advice when I needed it. She was always caring and concerned about the ladies I visit taught and about me.  I will always remember and cherish the friendship we had ! I have no doubt at all, that she is happy,.. happy with how she raised her family, happy with how she served, happy with the reunion she is having with her loved ones on the other side.  If anybody deserves that kind of happiness, it is Carolyn Martin ! 

Carolyn and I grew up as nextdoor neighbors in Inglewood CA circa 1950 and beyond. We were a little over a year apart in age but still went through all of our K-12 schools together in the same grades. 
Growing up in our neighborhood was much the same as watching a 1950’s TV episode. We had a ton of kids on our block to play with in our earliest years. And play we did. From trikes and bikes, hide and go seek in the park or even on our block, or dressing up as our favorite TV characters.
Most of the kids our age on our block were boys, but Carolyn didn’t let that bother her. 
She became one of the boys and had just as much fun as all of us and with all of us. 
We also did our share of mischief, such as laying in the gutters with Ketchup smeared on us so that cars would stop to see how badly we were hurt. We also had trees with carob pods that would fall on the ground, so naturally we would pick them up and hide behind some bushes or fences and bomb cars that drove by and then run like heck.
After our school years, we kinda all went different directions and I lost track of Carolyn for awhile.
But she kept in contact with my Mom over the years so I always heard little updates on her life and her moves. 
We both attended our 40th high school reunion and again renewed our friendship. We saw each other more frequently and met her wonderful husband Grady and beautiful daughter Laurel.
Probably the thing that stands out most in my memories of Carolyn is her wonderfully contagious laugh and gorgeous smile. Her recollection of past events was amazing. She’d remind me of long forgotten things we did as kids and at other times in our lives. It’s a shame she couldn’t write her own eulogy as it would be sure to fill our hearts with joyous stories of an era gone by. 
I’m going to miss my dear friend. She was an integral part of my life from my childhood until her passing. Rest In Peace dear Carolyn. 

A sharp wit and a wry smile. You were one of a kind Carolyn. I love you and will miss your colorful stories and your infectious laugh. I’m happy to know you’re not in pain anymore and in the arms of loved ones. I will always be grateful for opportunity to have gotten to know one of the Great Ones. 😘

I’ll remember Carolyn’s laugh and her kindness. She loved everyone and kept the fun times going. I loved hearing her stories and adventures! Wishing Laurel’s family some sweet experiences during this process of saying goodbye ❤️

Carolyn was a wonderful and amazing grandma. She was someone who cared for her family. She was an amazing and sweet lady and she will be missed dearly. From all the times i got to see her every moment was special to me.

I will always remember her for her smile and kindness. Even when I was a little kid, she was always lovely to be around. She was a blessing to all who knew her. 

I’m sorry I was never able to meet your sweet mama, although I was making plans to that Friday..but never got the chance.  I may not have actually met her but I really felt I knew her from how much you talked about her.. we all knew how much you loved her! You were lucky to have each other.. what a kind, caring, loving daughter you were to your mommy! Laurel, you made your mom’s life the best possible! She is now out of pain & no longer suffering... I’m sure she was SO proud of you and appreciated everything you did for her!  If she was anything like you.... I know I would have loved her too! ❤️
Just remember...you are never alone in this next chapter of your life.. always here for you girly! Love you!

I feel so thankful and blessed to be friends with Laurel and to have known  Carolyn  over the past 7 years. Carolyn was truly one of a kind. She was always friendly and warm.  I always felt  comfortable and welcome in her presence...like a part of her family. I loved to sit and listen to her talk about her life. I loved to hear her funny stories.  She could really tell a tale!  She had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit.  I will miss her infectious smile. I will miss laughing and commiserating with her.  She was a beautiful person inside and out and I feel so very lucky to have known her. 

Carolyn was always sweet and funny.  I remember the time she almost poisoned Laurel with her salad dressing.  She took alot  harassing for that, and we had a couple of good laughs.  She was always looking to smile and laugh.  I will miss her very much. 

Carolyn was such a sweet woman — she had a smile that made her eyes twinkle and lit us a room!  She exuded personality — always has a funny story or joke to tell.  She passed on her optimistic nature and wit to her daughter Laurel.  I’m grateful to have gotten the opportunity to know this good hearted woman and I’m glad she’s now able to rest easy in heaven.  

My Mom is going to be missed. Everywhere she went she always made a new friend. Everyone loved her because she was the real deal. She was Sassy, Sweet, Fun, Funny and just plain wonderful in every way. I’m going to miss her calls, her voice, her laughter, her kindness, love and hugs! I Love You Mom Always & Forever! ❤️

Your mom was beautiful inside and out ! Never an unkind word towards anyone . She was so loving and kind and caring . I’m so happy that Sherree and I could come see her before she passed .  Heavenly Father  knew she was coming home soon and he blessed us with the gift of giving her one last kiss . She even told me she loved me !! I’ll always have this beautiful memory . And she even smiled ! She knew how to make someone feel special even in her last moments . I loved  your mom  and she’ll live on in our hearts forever .  Thank you both Laurel and Jeannie for keeping me updated about her condition . I love you guys and  you have my sincere condolences.
