Rosa Poncio Gonzalez, 80, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family in McAllen, Texas. She was born on July 12, 1943 in Mcfaddin, TX to Pedro Poncio and Genoveva Vasquez Poncio.
Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; sister Sylvestra Gonzalez, and Juan, Pedro, and Manuel Poncio. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Guadalupe “Wally” Gonzalez Jr; children Beatriz (Baldomero) Salinas, Yolanda (Jaime) Ochoa, Abelardo Gonzalez; brother Miguel Poncio, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Rosa came from a humble background and instilled in her children the love of our almighty father Jehovah God, faith, courage and the importance of family. She loved to read her bible and attend meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a devoted and loyal servant of Jehovah for 48 years. Rosa’s favorite past times were spending quality time with family and friends, cooking, baking, crocheting, and reading the daily Monitor.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a service talk at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, Mission, TX. A chapel service will occur Monday, September 18, 2023 at 12:0 PM followed by a burial at 1:00 PM at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
