Maria D. Gomez

Renaissance.

Maria was born August 17, 1942 and resided in McAllen, Texas. As a cancer survivor of

over 50 years, she was a strong-willed woman who overcame all challenges to provide love, care, and

necessities to her family and friends. She will forever be in our hearts and continue to be a true

inspiration to us all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Amador Rodriguez and Susana Zermeno; her husband, Ramon

Gomez; and siblings, Jose Rodriguez, Beatriz Alvarez and Milton Rodriguez.

She is survived by her siblings Maria Cruz Rodriguez Zermeno and Homero Rodriguez; her loving

children, Gerardo Gomez, Maria Isabel (Scott) Luke, Yolanda (Eloy) Hernandez, Maria Elena Garza,

Suzanna Rubio, Patricia (Robert) Leal, and Claudia (Alberto Aaron) Ponce. She is also survived by her

loving grandchildren, Angela M. Gomez, Scott M. (Mariana) Luke Jr., Robert L. Pena, Gerardo Gomez Jr.,

Erick L. Pena, Jaqueline K. Luke, Kristina M. Murphy, George A. Garza, Robert O. Leal, Adal Gomez,

Sydney D. Garza, Ryan A. Leal, Ava L. Ponce, Alexander B. Rubio, and Aaron A. Ponce; and great

grandchildren, Abigail M. Pena, Adaline K. Murphy, Camila E. Luke, Amari Pena and Scarlett E. Luke.
