Jose Francisco “Joe” Bourbois passed away in his home on July 21, 2013 at age 48 to be with our heavenly Lord. The gates of heaven opened to welcome a wonderful loving husband, brother, uncle and nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ramiro and Emma Bourbois. He is survived by his wife Edith Bourbois and his children Jose Francisco (Darrissa) Bourbois and Elisse Claire Bourbois, Nadia Tamez Robledo, Una Andrea (Julian) Garza and 3 grandchildren Jolynn, Julian & Janell. He is also survived by his siblings Virginia “Ginger” (David) Silva, Juan Bourbois, Sylvia (Ricardo) Rendon. Cynthia “Cindy” Bourbois, Aida “Sally” (Jesus) Silva, Leticia (Saul Campos) Bourbois, Hector (Teresa) Bourbois, Ramiro Bourbois, Santiago “Jimmy” Bourbois.
Joe will be best remembered for the love he had for his family. He loved visiting his family members and was the life of the party. His laugh could be heard all over, and had the most beautiful smile. Joe made friends anywhere he would go and was a most likeable, generous person. He was the friend you would want to treasure forever. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Joe retired from the Texas Army National Guard and also served Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He also traveled throughout the country as a truck driver which he loved to do. Family will receive friends today, July 24, 2013 from 5-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel in Mission. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel in Mission. Interment will follow to the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 93. Having the Distinguished honor serving as pallbearers are: Jose Francisco Bourbois, Jr., Julian Garza, Rigo Rendon, Rick Rendon, J.J. Silva, Joel Silva, Charlie Reyes and Hector Bourbois, Jr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel in Mission, a dignity memorial provider.
