MCALLEN- Jose Alejandro Aguirre, 89, went to be with the Lord while his wife was at his constant side, on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Mission. Jose was born on December 8, 1925 in Mexico to Jose and Donatila Aguirre.
Jose served in the Diplomatic Service of Mexico for over 40 years. As Consul General he was stationed throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, ultimately retiring in McAllen, Texas, adopting it as his home. Throughout his career he pride himself in helping others less fortunate. He was well respected by his friends and colleagues and he was always there to offer a helping hand. Above all he adored his children and grandchildren, making each one feel like they were special and unique.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Donatila Aguirre , his son, Jose Manuel Aguirre and his brother Adolfo Aguirre.
Jose is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Luz Maria G. Aguirre; his daughter, Lucy A. (Dale) Williamson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alyson (Robert) Lopez, Brooke Williamson, Blake Williamson, Samantha Aguirre, Colby Aguirre; great-children, Daniela and Gabriel and brother, Alberto Aguirre.
Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel in Mission. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Funeraria del Angel in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel in Mission, a dignity memorial provider, 3611 N. Taylor Rd. in Mission.
