Ernestina D Gonzalez

Tina was born in Brownsville, Texas to Evaristo and Felicitas Doria on July 12, 1945. Tina attended Incarnate Word Academy and graduated from Villa Maria High School in 1966.

Tina married the love of her life, Leo Gonzalez Sr, on July 22, 1967. Throughout her life, Tina was a devoted wife to Leo and beloved mother to her children, Mark, Michael, Leo Jr, and Melinda. Grandma Tina, as she was affectionately known, delighted in her grandchildren. Tina loved the holidays and owned a vast, unique collection of decorative Santas.

A breast cancer survivor, Tina was active in breast cancer awareness events and support groups. A social butterfly, Tina enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Las Palmas Community Center in McAllen.

Tina is survived by her loving husband, Leo Sr, sons, Mark (Christie), Michael (Patty), Leo Jr (Marcie), daughter, Melinda and grandchildren, Maddi, Katie, Victoria, Selena, Samantha, Ethan, Jake, Gabby, and Ally; brother Edward Doria and many nephews and nieces.

Tina was preceded in death by her mother Felicitas, father Evaristo Sr, Sisters Elvia, Sylvia, and brother Evaristo Jr.

Visitation will be held from 3pm to 9pm on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home, 3611 N. Taylor Rd, Mission, TX with a rosary at 7pm. Memorial mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 1108 Hackberry, McAllen, TX. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3611 N. Taylor Rd, Mission.
