Donna Sue Arriola, born on July 17, 1945, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal D. Riggs and Mierle Wendolyn Hill.
Donna graduated from Baylor University, where she met her loving husband, Rolando Simon Arriola Sr., with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love and devotion.
She is survived by her beloved spouse, Rolando; her children, Elizabeth Mara Arriola (Clay), Rolando Simon Arriola Jr. (Julie), and John Paul Arriola (Brenda); and her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Jean, Christopher Simon, Katherine Kelly, Emma Julie, Susie, Michael Anthony, Dominic Ernesto, Elizabeth, Tomas, and Tasha. Donna was also blessed with great-grandchildren Riley Amara, Ava Jo, and Theodore Simon, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Donna had a lifelong career as a school psychologist and diagnostician, dedicating her expertise to the Edinburg, Mission, and Edcouch school districts. She was a compassionate professional who made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children.
Outside of her professional life, Donna was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a deep love for the arts—whether it was drawing, playing the guitar, or singing. Her beautiful voice and creative spirit brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of hearing her.
An avid reader and a collector of dolls, Donna’s curiosity and appreciation for the world around her were evident in everything she did. She was a woman who could do anything she set her mind to—her creativity, warmth, and determination were at the heart of all her endeavors.
Donna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and artistic expression will live on in the hearts of those who had the honor of sharing their lives with her.
