We gather here to celebrate the life and cherish the memory of Agoberto "Ago" Alaniz Gonzalez, known affectionately among us as El Dwende or Spiderman. Born October 7th 1931 in the humble town of General Trevino, he came into this world with a spark that would become a guiding light for all who knew him. Ago entered into eternal rest on April 14th, 2024, in the comforting embrace of Mission, Texas, having lived a life rich with love and service.
Ago was a beacon of generosity, a paragon of wisdom, and the very embodiment of love. He was the matriarch who held his family close to his heart, nurturing them with the same hands that could turn a simple meal into a feast, and a house into a home. He is survived by his loving family: Judith Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Eduardo Gonzalez, and Agoberto Gonzalez, Jr. Each of them a testament to his unwavering love and the wisdom he imparted.
Ago dedicated himself to the noble profession of life insurance, ensuring others found peace of mind in their times of need. His career spanned many fruitful years, marked by dedication and a deep commitment to those he served. Beyond his professional life, Ago brought his talents to Sandland, where he excelled in management, demonstrating leadership that was both compassionate and effective.
Ago was a lover of the open road, a seeker of horizons new and old. He found joy in the simple pleasure of a road trip, the open road stretching before him, the promise of adventure beckoning with every mile.
At home, the scent of BBQ would often waft through the air, a signal to all that Ago was in his element. These were sacred times, where family and friends gathered, and laughter was shared. There, he was not just the cook, but the heart of every gathering, spoiling his most treasured ones with not just food, but with an abundance of love.
Today, as we reflect on the life of Agoberto Alaniz Gonzalez, we are reminded of the profound impact one soul can have on so many. He walked among us as a living example of how to love without reservation, to give without expectation, and to impart wisdom that would guide us through the darkest of times.
And now, as we bid farewell to our beloved Ago, let us not be consumed by sorrow, but instead, be filled with gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with him. Let us carry forward the light he has left in each of us, a light that will continue to shine in his memory.
Ago, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. As you now rest in the arms of the Almighty, we, the ones you've left behind, will hold tight to the love you've given us, the lessons you've taught us, and the memories we've created together.
Go forth, Agoberto Alaniz Gonzalez, into the glory of God's kingdom, where you shall find peace everlasting. We will miss you dearly, but we take solace in knowing that your spirit will forever be with us, guiding us, until we meet again at that glorious table in heaven. Amen.
