Sylvia Dorothy Silver, 94, of Northridge, CA passed away on April 4, 2024, peacefully in her sleep. Sylvia was born on October 24th, 1929 in Dorchester, MA and lived in Brookline, MA, before moving to Northridge, CA. There she met her forever man and was blissfully married to Bernie Silver for 49 years. They travelled around the world together. Sylvia is survived by her sister, Pearl Swig (Reno, NV), her niece Lori Lapides (Windsor, CA) and her family, and her nephew Marc Friedman (Kent’s Store, VA) and his family. Sylvia taught for over 40 years between Napa Elementary School and Chatsworth Elementary School, both in the San Fernando Valley. She volunteered for several years teaching mah jongg with the adults, and cooking with the children, at WeSpark Cancer Center in Sherman Oaks, CA. She was a founding member of Temple Ramat Zion, Northridge. She loved to cook, bake and entertain with huge themed parties.
