Randi Lynn Cushnir grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from CSUN with a degree in journalism. Randi brought a unique passion to all of the elements of her life.
Randi worked in the entertainment industry: in radio, with book authors and in script development. In every project she contributed to, especially the ones for Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, Randi made sure the stories and characters were as three-dimensional and nuanced as possible.
Randi enjoyed an especially close relationship with her mother Frieda. When Frieda was struck with cancer and endured many years of pain and hardship, Randi was at her side every step of the way, ever ready to provide whatever support was necessary. Later, when Randi herself was diagnosed with a complicated case of diabetes, she took on the challenge and became a fierce advocate for her own health and healing.
Randi's greatest passion of all, however, was reserved for her nieces and nephews, Liza, Hazel, Jake, Eli, Freddy and Arlo. Randi was their biggest fan in all endeavors, endlessly curious about their lives and always available to connect whenever the opportunity arose.
Randi will be missed by her three younger brothers, Bruce (Emmy), Raphael and Andrew (Sharon), by her nieces and nephews and by her friends.
