Joseph Spahr, beloved brother, uncle, friend, Naval Chief Petty Officer/Quartermaster, and Civil Air Patrol Lieutenant Colonel passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Joseph had a distinguished career in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in places such as Rota, Spain, and Yokosuka, Japan. For over thirty years, he also ran the computer climate research modeling for UCLA's Atmospheric Sciences Department.
While doing this, Joseph was a certified scuba diver and a pilot. He volunteered at the Civil Air Patrol for twenty-six years, rising to Commander of Squadron 35 at Whiteman Airport.
After retirement, Joseph loved sailing on his boat The Cheryl Lee.
We will miss Joseph dearly.
