Dave was born at Saint John ’s hospital on December 14, 1962. He was the third child born to Ron and Yvonne Booth. He lived in San Pedro before moving to Woodland Hills and later settling in North Hollywood. His sister, Deedee, and his brother, Gary were all a little over a year apart, with Dave being the youngest. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, his daughter, Katelynn, his sister Deedee, her husband Dave, their daughters, Jennifer and Rachel, and his nephew Michael. He attended Saint Charles and Rio Vista elementary schools and North Hollywood high school. He always had a nice set of friends and liked to have a good time in class. He was a bit of a class clown. He attained a G.E.D. when he enlisted in the navy. He served on board the USS Racine. He traveled between South America and the west coast of the United States. When he was discharged from the navy, he enrolled at ITT tech school of electronics. Dave has a knack for fixing things, whether it be around the house or items in the house. His love of technology came naturally. He was a computer wiz. He was self taught and was referred to as tech support by his mother-in-law. He passed along his love for technology to Katelynn. Dave followed his dad into the entertainment industry. He started at Pacific Title where he worked with his dad. When the company expanded into digital effects he transferred there. He was pretty much self taught and learned on the job. From there he went to Disney where he worked for feature animation. He also worked for a time at Fotokem. He was a ham radio operator, KC6WFS, where he met some great friends and mentors. He even encouraged Cindy to get her license, KC6FPP. He was very involved in the amateur radio community. There were many antennas and even a 70 foot tower in the backyard. He participated in field days and hamventions. Dave had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed astronomy. He made his own observatory in the back yard complete with astrophotography. This extended to all other kinds of photography as well. When he and Cindy met he was active in RC airplane racing and later he shared his love of that with Cindy and Katelyn in the form of RC cars. He also had a great love of animals. There were always at least 3 cats and a dog. Cindy was always very patient and tolerant with all the other animals such as bearded dragons, Asian water dragons, Oscars, iguanas, snakes and even a little gray bunny. But most of all he had a talent for helping people. It didn’t matter if he knew you or not. Even if you were a friend of a friend he was always there to lend a hand while never expecting any kind of payment. Dave was a great husband, father, son, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. When you think of him just remember how he touched your life and try to pass that feeling on to others. Just know now that he is at peace with friends and family who went before.
