It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle, Stephen Joseph Taylor. Steve passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital with his family by his side on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at the age of 79 years.
Steve had a passion for life and dearly loved his friends and family. Steve was born in Winnipeg Manitoba where he met the love of his life at Assinaboia Downs horse race track. Together they shared a zeal for horses and Steve enjoyed watching his horse 'Tea Party Today' win a race at Assinaboia Downs while in hospital before his passing. He loved animals and seemed to have a special bond and way with them.
Steve and Barb with their two children moved to British Columbia in 1983. Steve worked for Mainland Sand and Gravel as a Driller Blaster for many years. The work he did there was recognized and valued. Steve was known for his generosity, always giving and never wanting anything in return. Steve had a big personality and an even bigger heart. His passing is a great loss for his friends and family. He is greatly missed.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Dawn Taylor, daughter Alanna (Terry) Randhawa, and children Shaelynn, Anjali, Surina and Joel, daughter Christine (Eric) Li and children Breanne, Katie, Alyssa and Ty. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Mary, siblings Robert, Patrick, Diane, Brenda, Sharron. Survived by brother Brian (Nancy) and sisters, Theresa (Larry), Valerie, Darlene ,Cathy (Gani) and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Stephen will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, BC V2V3Y7, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
