My late Papa Jose was the strongest and courageous man I know. He internalized his pain and discomfort so those around him wouldn’t worry. He taught me about hard working ethics, respect and the importance of family bonding. He taught me money doesn’t grow on trees, to work hard for what we want in life and to do things slow and easy.  Don't sweat the small as well as the big things in life and to believe in God. Dad had a lot of medical problems but never let that worry him. I was blessed to have had the last 3 years of  living near him to build a stronger-loving father-daughter relationship. You had a funny wit which I learned to relax and enjoy  the humour.
I’ll picture you be in your beautiful native island of Sam Miguel (which you longed for), eating everything you liked, swimming in your ocean, no more pain and may all your senses be regained. I’ll love you forever and you will be extremely missed and never, never forgotten.
God bless your soul and I thank you for the beautiful childhood life you gave me and you never stopped taking care of us - we will take care of mom. Rest now my sweet papa. Hugs, love and cheers! 🍷🙏🏻



I have many wonderful memories with my dad and many life lessons that I’ve learned from him. He was a kind, positive, calm, loving and generous person. I always considered my dad a good family man who provided and cared for his family and who loved God. Some things I’ve learned from him are to live in the present as it’s a precious gift, to not worry about things, and to be content with the simple things in life. My dad has taught us about grace, strength and courage. We love him with all our hearts. He is gone, but not forgotten and lives on in our joyful memories and hearts.
