With sadness, Gary Edward Kitchen passed away on August 26, 2022 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 83. He will be remembered by his wife Elfrieda, his son Shawn and partner Sarah Taylor, his daughter and son-in-law Christy and Amos Westropp and his two grandchildren Hayden and Mya.
Gary was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba on August 26, 1939 but spent most of his life in the lower mainland of British Columbia. He dedicated his life to the public service and the church. He worked with the Department of Fisheries and then transferred to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and as an Inspector until his retirement after 32 years of service. Throughout his life, he actively served the public by volunteering for the National Association of Federal Retirees, Careline/Telecare Crisis Centre, Emergency Services, Victims Services, M2W2, the Gideons amongst other non-profit organizations as well as generously supporting several charities.
He will be remembered by family and friends for his dedication, kindness, and quiet demeanour.
