It is with great sadness that we announce Barry’s passing after his short battle with Cancer with his family by his side.
He will be survived by his sister Frances Wright and step-children Robert (Pam) Scott, Debbie (Vic) Hunt, Norman Scott, and Fran (Steve) Scott and 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and his dog Tucker.
We are ever so grateful that when you came into Mom’s life, you accepted us as your own children completely and loved us to the end.
Predeceased by his loving wife Joan of 42 years, parents Fred & Helen Wright and stepson William (Bill) Scott. Barry had a fabulous career with B.C. Telephone - Telus (Switching) until he retired and then to keep himself busy, he became a certified electrician and worked several years until he stopped to care for Joan. Barry was a loving and caring husband, and a fabulous dad who was always there for the family. He enjoyed his activities around Team Bowling, Legion Pool club (some say a bit of a shark), Bridge play group (loved the challenges) and his time volunteering at the Legion in Mission. We will all miss him in so many ways but happy his peace now allows him to be back with mom.
We would all like to thank the staff within the Christine Morrison Hospice and his doctors for their compassionate care of Dad and all of us during the most difficult time of his life.
Instead of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Mission Legion, or Christine Morrison Hospice at Mission Hospital.
We will have a Celebration of Life in January and will advise everyone via his Facebook account and Mission Legion.
