William Joseph McGinnis

Joe, 64, of Houston, TX, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died January 8, 2013, at his home and is now with the Lord.

Joe graduated high school in Kansas City, MO, where he was a golfer and played baseball. While in high school, he became an Eagle Scout. Joe graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in business. Following college, he joined the Lipton Tea Company as a representative, where he traveled to different states. Later, Joe held a similar position with Sunshine Cookies. He was currently working with Macy’s as a My Macy’s Specialist.

Joe was a fun loving person and cared deeply for people. His favorite minister was the Rev. Billy Graham. Joe was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph McGinnis, Sr.

Joe is survived by his mother, Eleanor Terry Bacon; sister, Carolyn McGinnis Bailey; brothers, Terry H. Bacon and Stephen W. Bacon; nephew, Chief Master Sergeant Carey W. Casey; and niece, Kendell L. Bacon.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 26, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Pigg officiating. Interment is private.
